Hey Students! During November 1st through November 4th consider donating individually wrapped candy/chocolate from your Halloween loot to the front office to give to Shepard’s Table, a neighborhood nonprofit providing meals, basic services and medical support to the homeless and people in need in Downtown Silver Spring.
Why this service project? Halloween is Monday, October 31 and those students participating may get a lot of candy while out and about trick-or- treating. With an abundance of treats, this is a great opportunity to share the bounty with Shepard’s Table. They will use the treats for dessert during their meal service and for clients with diabetes who need candy when their blood sugar levels get too low. Plus donating is a great way to reduce the amount of sugar consumed after this holiday!
No candy, no problem – consider writing a Thank You note to Shepard’s Table for helping the people in our community. For more on Shepard’s Table, click here.
