Screen Free Week, May 2-8

It’s a busy week this week — not only is it Teacher Appreciation Week, but it’s also Screen Free Week.  Learn more here.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that screen time for kids should be limited to one or two hours a day. When we say screen time we mean television, movies, computers games, and web-browsing. Children who watch more than two hours of TV a day are more likely to be overweight and often suffer from irregular sleep patterns.”

If your student (or even you!) participates, here’ s a free printable certificate to use to celebrate the achievement. Let’s unplug!

  1. I am doing this with my 6th grader, trying to eliminate unnecessary screen time. It is shaping up to be a good experience for us all!
